Dow Continues to Solve Water Problems

The first-ever China - U.S. Environmental Industries Forum was held on October 21st in Beijing. Conducted through a cooperation among the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and China's Ministry of Environmental Protection, the forum's objective is to bring government, industry and other stakeholders together to facilitate the development of policies and projects that address the country's key environmental and sustainability issues, including water, air and solid waste.
"As an industry leader in providing sustainable solutions that help solve many of the world's water supply challenges, we're well-positioned to help China provide water to its population and industry through water reuse, decentralized water systems and desalination technologies," says Lance Johnson, commercial director, Dow Water Solutions (DWS) at the water technology portion of the one-day conference.
"Globally, water reuse is expected to grow to 59.7 million m3/day by 2016," Johnson says.  "To help meet this demand, Dow is working to lower the cost of water reuse even further through advances in ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis membranes and other technologies."
