MEP Announced Qualified Citric Acid Producers List    

The Ministry of Environmental Protection of China (MEP) announced on November 3rd the name list of citric acid producers, the major pollutants by whom can meet the discharge standards provided by the government. According to the regulation promulgated by the Ministry of Commerce of China in 2008, the citric acid producers that can not reach China's discharge standards are neither permitted to continue production nor permitted to export citric acid. This conforms to China's green foreign trade policy. (CCR 2008 No. 29)  
   The provincial environmental protection administrative departments together with China Ferment Industry Association organized professionals to carry out spot investigations on major citric acid producers. Fifteen producers, such as Shanxi Fenhe Biochemistry Co., Ltd., Anhui BBCA Biochemical Co., Ltd., Shandong Ningmeng Biochemistry Co., Ltd., Yixing-union Biochemical Co., Ltd., DSM Citric Acid Wuxi Ltd., are covered in the qualified list.
