Jiangsu Constructs Salt Project      

Construction on the 1 million t/a mineral brine to salt (sodium chloride) project jointly invested by China National Salt Industry Corporation, Jiangsu Salt Group Company Ltd. and Jiangsu Jin Qiao Salt and Chemical Group (JQSC) was started on October 16th in Guanxi Salt Field, Jiangsu province.
    The solar salt project from brine together with brine exploration have a total investment of RMB1 billion. After its completion, the project can reach an annul output of 1 million tons for solid salt, 100 000 tons for calcium sulfate and reap a revenue of RMB430 million a year.
   On April 15th, JQSC started construction of a chlor-alkali project including 300 000 t/a ionic membrane caustic soda, 260 000 t/a chlorine and 60 000 t/a hydrochloric acid projects. JQSC will complete the construction of the first phase - 150 000 t/a ionic membrane caustic soda project by the end of 2009.
