A Chemical Firm in Hubei Got Penalty

Wen Ning, vice president of Hubei Kexing Medical & Chemical Company Limited, was arrested because of a tainting event happened on October 8th.
The firm engaged in production of chemical intermediates for medicines had discontinued production for months before October in response to the requirements of local government. From October the company restarted production without the permit of the environmental protection administration departments and discharged waster water that did not meet the authority's standards. The waste water containing cyanides polluted a river slightly, causing fishes dead. Local government found the pollution only in six hours since the company restarted production. The illegal production ceased immediately and the tainted river and fishes were all controlled by related administration departments.
The main products made by the company are benzophenone series. Hubei Kexing got a fine of RMB200 thousand and was required to relocate its production facilities at once.
