Henan Invests in Building Online Supervision System     

The Henan provincial government recently made a notice to complete the construction on the Environmental Automatic Supervision System All Over The Province before June 30th, 2010, with a planned investment of RMB670 million. The construction will spend two or three years. This system will cover all areas in the province, featured with completed functions, advanced technologies, leading in China. The provincial government wants to rely on this system to supply scientific, accurate, on time and efficient data and strong technical support for the reduction of pollutants, environmental management, check of the environmental protection deputy and task. The system will include nine sections such as the automatic supervision and control platform on the environment.
    According to Li Qingrui, director of the provincial office of environmental protection, Henan province has built up 46 automatic supervision stations of water environmental quality and 107 automatic supervision stations of air quality.
  Recently the 130 sewage treatment plants completed before the end of 2007 in the province all have passed the government's approval and are operating steadily and normally. These plants, totally with a COD reduction capacity of 340 thousand tons per year, are all installed with online automatic supervision instruments and linked to a 2 997 kilometer pipeline network.
