AkzoNobel to Build Coatings Plant in Wuhan      

AkzoNobel, the number one coatings player in the world, plans to strengthen its presence in central China, through building a decorative coatings plant in Wuhan Economic Development Zone, according to the Wuhan local government.
   The company is talking with the Wuhan government on related issues.
   AkzoNobel has sixteen coatings plants in China now, including the acquisition of ICI's two site - Guangzhou and Shanghai.
   The group is building its multi-site at Ningbo, Zhejiang province, to produce ethylene amines and chelating agents, requiring Euro 250 million. The chelates plant is expected to start up in 2009, followed by the ethylene amines plant in early 2010.
