Hanergy to Execute Coal-Based Methanol Project     

Hanergy Holding Group Co., Ltd. and Shuangyashan Municipal Government of Heilongjiang Province held a contract signing ceremony in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province on August 19th. Both sides intend to build a coal-based energy transformation project.
   Hanergy, headquartered in Beijing, is a private-holding clean energy firm, with an energy R & D center and the coal-based chemical transformation technology. The company intends to use lignite resources in Shuangyashan to produce coal-based chemicals. The first phase, with an estimated investment of RMB6.0 billion, is designed to produce 1.2 million tons of methanol a year, due startup in August 2011.
