Bayer Launches "Bayer Cares Project"

On July 22nd, Bayer Group, together with Sichuan Technology and Business College (STBC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to kick off "Bayer Cares Project".  Witnessed by Red Cross Society of China Dujiangyan Branch, the initiative demonstrates Bayer long-term commitment to further providing comprehensive solutions to post-quake reconstructions in Sichuan province.
Bayer Cares Project is designed to provide 20 standard classrooms, 50 houses and 1 mobile clinic to the reconstruction of the college, so as to directly address the needs of the students and faculties.
Bayer Technology Engineering Services (BTES) was responsible for the design and layout of the various structures; the units are made with panels containing the polyurethane raw material methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) made by Bayer MaterialScience; while Bayer HealthCare is providing advice on the equipment in the health clinic and further supplies of medicines.
The total construction area of polyurethane constructions exceeds 2 000 square meters. Every four containers will constitute a standard classroom which can accommodate about 50 students. Every container is equipped with polyurethane panels from Bayer MaterialScience to increase efficiency against wind and noise, and maximise insulation whilst also ensuring the healthy circulation of air. In addition, these polyurethane material houses are solid and comfortable, and easy to install.  Meanwhile the materials are environmentally friendly, reflecting Bayer Group's consistent efforts towards "environmental protection and sustainable development."  Bayer Group also wants to bring environmental concepts to the devastated area, to help people in Dujiangyan to protect the environment while rebuilding their hometown.
