Alumina Project in Henan Approved    

According to the website of the National Development and Reform Commission on July 4th, it has approved a new 700 000 t/a alumina project using the Bayer process in Zhongzhou Branch of China Aluminum Co., Ltd.
   The project can facilitate the full utilization of bauxite with low aluminum/silicon ratio in Henan province, promote the sustainable development of the aluminum sector and help Zhongzhou Branch reduce cost in the alumina production.
   The company is located in Xiuwu County, Jiaozuo, Henan province, with an alumina design capacity of 1.4 million t/a. Zhongzhou Branch produces actually 2.1 million tons of alumina per year.
