ABB Group and Guangzhi Group Conduct Cooperation in Synergistic Energy Conservation   

On June 18th the ABB Group and Yue Xiu Guangzhou Paper Group, the biggest newsprint producer in southern China, held a ceremony for signing the agreement on the cooperation in synergistic energy conservation. According to the agreement, ABB Group will dispatch an expert consulting team composed of renowned foreign and domestic energy management consultants and energy evaluation experts to Guangzhou Paper Group to conduct a field survey to the initiative in energy efficiency and the policy for energy management. Both sides will finalize the energy efficiency improvement scheme on the basis of the survey report. ABB Group plans to implement the energy efficiency improvement scheme in four phases to make a stepwise reduction to the supply cost, the production expenses and the energy consumption.
   ABB Group is the first enterprise to advocate synergistic energy conservation in China. At the end of 2006 it signed a five-year framework agreement on synergistic energy conservation with Guangdong provincial government to help local enterprises in Guangdong province increase energy efficiency and help the province attain the target of reducing the energy consumption per GDP by 16% in 2010. ABB Group has already provided energy conservation training to nearly 1 000 enterprises in petrochemical, construction material, iron/steel, textile, paper pulp and papermaking sectors of the province.
   Guangzhou Paper Group owns newsprint pulp and paper making production lines with the most advanced technologies in the world, its capacity of paper and paperboards has reached 1.0 million t/a today.
