MOEP Issues Eleven Terms of Standards for Pollutant Emission    

To implement the "Law of the People's Republic of China on Environmental Protection", the "Law of the People's Republic of China on Water Pollution Control" and the "Law of the People's Republic of China on Atmospheric Pollution Control", prevent and control pollution, protect and improve ecological environment and safeguard people's health, the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MOEP) has approved eleven terms of standards such as the "Standard for Water Pollutant Emission in the Pulp and Paper Making Industry" to be national standards for pollutant emission. These standards are issued together with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China, effective August 1st, 2008.
    The names and codes of these standards are as follows:
    1. Standard for Water Pollutant Emission in the Pulp and Paper Making Industry (GB 3544-2008)
    2. Standard for Pollutant Emission in Electroplating (GB 21900-2008)
    3. Standard for Water Pollutant Emission in the Down Industry (GB 21901-2008)
    4. Standard for Pollutant Emission in the Synthetic Leather and Artificial Leather Industry (GB 21902-2008)
    5. Standard for Water Pollutant Emission in the Fermentation Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry (GB 21903-2008)
    6. Standard for Water Pollutant Emission in the Chemical Synthesis Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry (GB 21904-2008)
    7. Standard for Water Pollutant Emission in the Extraction Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry (GB 21905-2008)
    8. Standard for Water Pollutant Emission in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry (GB 21906-2008)
    9. Standard for Water Pollutant Emission in the Bioengineering Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry (GB 21907-2008)
