The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) took a nationwide concerted action of the concentrated rectification to the transportation of hazardous chemicals from June 1st to June 7th. Acts in violation of laws such as over-speeding of vehicles, driving without license and driving without escort will be prosecuted.
It is defined in a document issued by the Communication Control Bureau of MPS that to ensure the safety of road communication during the Olympic Games the MPS has decided to launch a movement of the concentrated rectification to the transportation of hazardous chemicals from June 1st to September 30th. The movement is intended to further standardize the highway transportation of hazardous chemicals and avoid large accidents such as the leakage, combustion and explosion of hazardous chemicals caused by acts in violation of laws done by vehicles carrying hazardous chemicals. To quickly start the climax of the concentrated rectification, a nationwide concerted action was first taken from June 1st to June 7th.
According to the arrangement by MPS, during the period of the concerted action movements, vehicles carrying chemicals with acute toxicity will be followed, and registration, examination and checking will be made to each vehicle. Focus will be laid on the spot checking of box cars with no warning signals and trucks with goods in steel cylinders or drums. Acts in violation of laws such as over-speeding of vehicles, driving in fatigue, parking in wrong places, driving without license, entrance to restricted areas without permission, driving not according to prescribed time, route and speed and driving without escort will be prosecuted. Acts in violation of laws that have been discovered will be handled severely.
