Lu'An Environmental Energy Accelerates Capacity Expansion    

Shanxi Lu'An Environmental Energy Development Co., Ltd. (SH: 601699), located in Changzhi of Shanxi province, focuses on the production and sales of coal. The company owns five coal mines with recoverable coal reserves of 1.89 billon tons. In addition to expansion of the coal business, the company strengthens the coal coking business. The first-phase of 300 000 t/a coking project in Lu'An Hongfeng Coking Co., Ltd., whose 51% equity held by Lu'An Environment Energy, has started production. The second-phase of 300 000 t/a coking project is under construction. Lu'an Environmental Energy, partnering with Shanxi Tianji Chemical Co., Ltd. has started construction of the 600 000 t/a methanol and 200 000 t/a dimethyl ether coal chemical project. It is scheduled for startup in 2008.
   The output of coal in the company will be 24.8 million tons in 2008 and the output of coke will be 600 000 tons.
