MOEP Issues First National Standards for Environmental Protection

The Ministry of Environmental Protection (MOEP) and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Bureau have jointly issued four national standards for pollutants emission. They are the first batch of national standards for environmental protection issued by MOEP since its founding in March this year. According to officials from MOEP, the formulation of these four standards will further upgrade the emission control level at polluting sources and improve the pollutants emission monitoring and control system of the state.
The four standards include the "Standard for Coalbed Methane Emission (Interim)", the "Standard for Pollutants Control at Domestic Garbage Yards", the "Standard for Heterocyclic Pesticide Industrial Water Pollutants Emission" and the "Limit and Assay Method for Heavy-Duty Vehicle Gasoline Engine and Automobile Tail Gas Pollutants Emission (China III and IV Stages)". The "Standard for Heterocyclic Pesticide Industrial Water Pollutants Emission" is the first national emission standard for the pesticide manufacturing sector after MOEP started the work on the formulation of standards for pesticide industrial water pollutants emission.
