BASF announces it will once again demonstrate its commitment to applying world-class solutions to support the challenges and demands of China and Asia's booming industries at ChinaPlas 2008 from April 17th to April 20th. Automotive, packaging, electrical and electronic, construction, sports and leisure, and health care are among the industries concerned.
At the event, BASF displayed many innovations from the fields of engineering plastics, polyurethanes, specialty plastics and foams, finishing chemicals and plasticizers. These innovations contribute to greater eco-efficiency, safety and cost efficiency for BASF's customer industries.
BASF is committed to strengthening partnerships with customers through greater local support. BASF's first plasticizer technical center in Asia Pacific was recently established at the BASF Pudong site, Shanghai. Other recent developments include a polyurethane site that houses a R & D center for polyurethanes and production facility. There is also an automotive center that brings together BASF's broad portfolio of expertise for the automotive industry. All of these facilities are in Shanghai, a city fast becoming BASF's China hub for innovation.
