Chris Chan Named PA Director for Dow Epoxy & Specialty Chemicals

Chris Chan, Public Affairs Director for Dow Asia Pacific and Greater China, has been named to a newly created role, leading Business Public Affairs for Epoxy & Specialty Chemicals, as well as communications leadership for large joint venture (JV) projects in China.  
    Mr. Chan will lead all aspects of Business Public Affairs for the global Epoxy & Specialty Chemicals business, including marketing communications, branding, agency management, and internal communications to drive employee alignment and engagement in the business. This newly established role also reflects the growth of Dow's JV activities in China. Mr. Chan will be responsible for developing the internal and external communications strategy and programs for Dow's planned JV with the Shenhua Group to build a coal-to-chemicals complex in Shaanxi Province, as well as communications related to future large JVs in China.
    Mr. Chan has significant Public Affairs experiences in Dow. In 2000, he joined Dow Hong Kong as Public Affairs Director for the Pacific Area and was named PA Director for Greater China in July 2004 following the designation of Greater China as a dedicated growth region within Dow. He assumed additional PA leadership responsibilities for Asia Pacific in April 2006 and was responsible for Dow's public affairs strategies and activities in the region.  He led the launch of the Human Element campaign in China, as well as the establishment of Dow's corporate social responsibility programs in the region, among other things.
