Hunan Launches Urban Sewage Treatment Projects       

During 2008-2010 Hunan province will raise RMB10 billion for the construction of sewage treatment facilities in all cities and counties to guarantee the safety of drinking water for urban residents.
   It is defined in the "Three-Year Action Plan for the Construction of Urban Sewage Treatment Facilities" submitted by Hunan Development and Reform Commission to the People's Congress of Hunan Province that eight sewage treatment plants will be constructed in the province in 2008. The provincial government will also highlight the safety of drinking water for a rural population of 1.5 million.
   Hunan provincial government has signed an agreement on strategic cooperation with Beijing Capital Co., Ltd. to make coordinated efforts in the construction and operation of urban sewage treatment facilities.
