Three Sewage Treatment Plants Start Functioning     

Changchun North Suburb Sewage Treatment Plant, Jilin Sewage Treatment Plant and Songyuan Sewage Treatment Plant located in the Songhuajiang River reaches have recently passed environmental protection appraisal and started functioning.
    According to Jilin Environmental Protection Bureau, operation of the three sewage treatment plants will help control pollution to Songhuajiang River reaches.
    In the readjustment to the industrial distribution in major sectors, Jilin province has shut down 93 paper mills and 8 furfural producers that failed to complete rectification in time.
    Twenty-one enterprises in Jilin have already passed the clean production assessment. In these enterprises alone, the annual emission reduction can reach more than 8.0 million tons for waste water, more than 1 300 tons for COD and more than 600 tons for sulfur dioxide.
