YPC Kicks off Carbon Monoxide Project      

On November 9th, 2007 Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (YPC) started the construction work on 330 000 t/a carbon monoxide project in Nanjing, Jiangsu province.
   With a total investment of RMB1.0 billion, the project is a major matching unit of the 500 000 t/a acetic acid project, and is due to be completed and go on stream in 2009.
   The acetic acid project with methanol and carbon monoxide as raw materials is jointly invested by BP and YPC, and the construction was started on March 23rd, 2007. (CCR 2007, No.10)
    YPC is a large petrochemical enterprise in China, mainly engaged in the production of oil products, basic organic raw materials, polyester feedstock and polyolefins.
