Henan Kaixiang Kicks off BDO Project      

On September 28th, 2007 Henan Kaixiang Fine Chemical Co., Ltd. launched a 50 000 t/a 1,4-butanediol (BDO) project in Yima, Henan province.
The project using alkyne - aldehyde process is jointly funded by Henan Kaixiang Electric Power Industry Co., Ltd. and SOWIN Industrial (HK) Limited with an investment of RMB800 million.
    BDO is an important organic chemical raw materials, and extensively used in pharmaceutical, coatings, automobile and plastic sectors.
    After the completion of the project, the sales revenue will be added by around RMB1.0 billion a year.
