Kramay Sulfur Recovery Unit Conducts Wet Commissioning

On September 17th, 2007 the 4 000 t/a sulfur recovery unit in CNPC Kramay Petrochemical Co., Ltd. was conducted successful wet commissioning. The problem of acidic gas pollution that has affected the development of the company is solved completely.
Kramay Petrochemical Co., Ltd. acquired an oil processing capacity of 5.0 million t/a in 2004. The total amount of acidic gas further increased to 5 300 tons a year. The capacity of sulfur recovery needed to be more than 3 000 t/a. The existing 1 500 t/a sulfur recovery unit could no longer meet the need. The 4 000 t/a sulfur recovery unit funded by the company with an investment of RMB29 million was started construction in November 2006. The unit conducted intermediate handing over and started the stage of trial run at the end of July 2007.
After the completion of the 4 000 t/a sulfur recovery unit, the sulfur recovery rate in the company will reach more than 99.8% and the environmental pollution can be reduced to the minimum.
