Shanghai General Motors Awards BASF Coatings for Environmental Efforts     

October 8th, 2007 Shanghai General Motors has awarded BASF Shanghai Coatings Co., Ltd. with the Green Supply Chain Award for its long established partnership in environmentally-friendly technology, as well as for helping Shanghai General Motors become the first manufacturer in the Chinese automotive industry to spray waterborne basecoats in assembly production.  
    "We are proud to receive this award," said Heng Lin, head of BASF Shanghai Coatings. "Compliance and commitment to the environment are very important for us too. We fully support Shanghai General Motors' initiative and will continue to strive to be the greenest supplier in terms of eco-friendly solutions, while further improving environmental standards at our site."
   The award also recognizes the fact that BASF has met Shanghai General Motors' strict requirements in the areas of energy consumption and waste management, as well as environment compliance at its production sites.
