Dow Corning Introduces Integrated Silicone Solutions for Automotive Safety    

On September 26th, 2007 Dow Corning Corporation, a leader in the silicone technology and innovation, introduced a complete line of silicone solutions for automotive applications with an emphasis on Dow Corning Seam Sealant, its new airbag sealant at Auto Parts Shanghai 2007. Dow Corning Seam Sealant is the latest in a long line of high-performance silicone coatings and sealants that Dow Corning has offered the airbag industry since it developed the first airbag coating over 20 years ago.
   According to William R. Blackwood, Dow Corning's airbag technology expert, the increased emphasis on rollover protection from inflatable curtains has dramatically changed the role of coatings and sealants in the airbag market in the last five years.
