SEPA Launches Ecological Compensation Pilot Projects

To accelerate the establishment of ecological compensation mechanisms, improve environmental economy policies and promote ecological environmental protection, the State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA) has recently announced to launch ecological compensation pilot projects in natural protection zones, major ecological function zones, mineral resource development and water environmental protection.
SEPA will select state-class natural protection zones and major ecological function zones for the implementation of ecological compensation pilot projects. Ecological compensation pilot projects for the development of mineral resources such as coal mines will be launched in pilot regions for the sustainable development policy measures of the coal industry and for the charged utilization reformation of coal resources.
