Jinjiang Sci-Tech Completes 30 000 T/A PA66 Project   

The first-phase PA (polyamide) 66 project funded by Fujian Jinjiang Sci-Tech Co., Ltd. with an investment of RMB330 million started production in Changle, Fujian province on September 9th. The first phase includes 16 production lines and the capacity can reach 30 000 t/a. In May 2007 Jinjiang Sci-Tech Co., Ltd. made inputs in this PA66 project. The project has a total investment of RMB790 million and occupies an area of 27 hectares. The second phase is planned to have an investment of RMB460 million, but details have not yet been disclosed.
    PA66 is mainly used for the blending with viscose fiber, cotton, wool and other synthetic fibers. It can be used as clothing material in the production of socks, under wears and sports wears. As there are very few PA66 producers in China, many textile enterprises in Changle have to depend on imports. The completion of the project shows that Fujian province has acquired the ability to produce PA66 today.
