Inorganic Chemicals Keep Stable

Caustic soda

In September 2007, the price of caustic soda remained stable in most regions of China, and went up only in a few regions. In southern China, the price remained stable because supply and demand was basically balanced. Due to the demand increase in downstream sectors, the price of caustic soda in eastern China continued to increase.
In eastern China the trading price of ionic membrane caustic soda lifted to RMB580-660/t by the end of September 2007, compared to RMB550-620/t at the end of August 2007.
In October 2007, the growth of caustic soda output will slow down and the price of caustic soda will be stable.

Liquid chlorine

In September 2007, China's price of liquid chlorine changed differently by regions.
In eastern China, the price of liquid chlorine remained relatively stable. In Central China, due to the low operating rate of downstream plants, the demand for liquid chlorine came down and the price of liquid chlorine was down to RMB1 460-1 550/t at the end of September 2007. In northern China, the prices of liquid chlorine went up in response to the demand rise.
In October 2007, the supply and demand of liquid chlorine will basically be balanced, and the price of liquid chlorine therefore will fluctuate slightly.

Sulfur

In September 2007 because the price of sulfur in the international market kept at a high level and the demand for sulfur in downstream sectors was brisk, the price of sulfur in domestic market stopped decreasing and tended to be stable.
In October 2007, due to increase of imported amount, the supply will rise considerably, but the demand for sulfur in downstream sectors will further increase, the price of sulfur in domestic market will still be stable.
