Explosion in Zhenjiang Chimei Chemical   

On August 28th, 2007 a store tank suddenly caught fire and got
explosion in Zhenjiang Chimei Chemical Co., Ltd. (Zhenjiang
Chimei Chemical) located in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu province. There
is 150 tons of dangerous chemical-methyl acrylate in the tank.
Thanks to timely rescue, no people injured in the accident. The
cause of the accident is being investigated now.
    Zhenjiang Chimei Chemical is jointly established by of
Chimei Industry Co., Ltd. of Taiwan province, Mitsubishi
Chemical Co., Ltd. of Japan, China Light Industry Raw Material
Corporation and Zhenjiang Dagang Development Corporation. As an
important engineering plastics production base in China,
Zhenjiang Chimei Chemical Co., Ltd. mainly manufactures high
impact and general polystyrene and relevant derivatives.

Fire in Jiangsu Lianhuan Pharmaceutical    

On August 14th, 2007 a wagging particle unit got explosion and
caught fire during the production process in the tablets
preparation workshop of Jiangsu Lianhuan Pharmaceutical Co.,
Ltd. Jiangsu Lianhuan pharmaceutical located in Yangzhou,
Jiangsu province. Five workers injured in the accident.
   According to the investigation, electrostatic reaction
happened and caused the spark when some workers operated the
materials. It is released by the company no great impact was made
to the normal operation in the company.
    Jiangsu Lianhuan Pharmaceutical is engaged in the
production and sales of chemical drug, pharmaceutical
preparation and organic intermediate, etc.
