Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose

Xi'an North Huian Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. and Beijing
Institute of Technology have jointly developed hydroxypropyl
methyl cellulose (HPMC), a new cellulose product produced
through the esterification of cellulose ether. The product has
combined ethers and esters together for the first time in
history.
HPMC is extensively used in resin synthesis, papermaking,
leather, dyeing/printing and daily-use chemical sectors. Its
derivative HPMC titanate is mostly used as auxiliary material
for medical care. Only a few countries in the world can make the
production and China has to depend on imports.
It is reported that the use of this new product as auxiliary
material in the pharmaceutical production can reduce or avoid
injuries to stomach.
