New Pesticide Formulation with High Effect and Low Toxicity

School of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Nanjing
University (SCCT) has recently developed DDVP insecticide, a new
pesticide formulation with high effect, low toxicity and small
pollution. It has been displayed in the Scientific and
Technological Innovation Achievements of the university. DDVP
has already started commercial production.
    Through many years' efforts in the development of new
pesticides and the research of control-release technologies,
SCCT has successfully developed DDVP insecticide through the
interaction between polymer compounds and pesticides. In this
way active pesticide ingredients can be released to the
environment at a low, sustained and effective rate for long time.
    The product can not only be used as green pesticide in
traditional pesticide application sectors such as grain bases
and vegetable greenhouses, but also as insecticide in households
and public places like hotels.
