Tongzhou Group Launches 100 000 T/A Methanol Project

The 100 000 t/a methanol project of Shanxi Tongzhou Coal Coking
Group was launched in Qinyuan county, Changzhi, Shanxi province
on July 19th, 2007. It is a construction project intended to
develop coking downstream products and fully use coke oven
surplus gas. The coke oven compression and desulfurization
purification process and the methanol low-pressure synthesis
and three-tower rectification process are used in the methanol
production. Environmental pollution can be minimized,
comprehensive utilization can be achieved, product portfolio
can be improved and economic performance can be enhanced. The
project has a total investment of RMB300 million and occupies
an area of over 80 000 m2. The construction period is two years.
After the completion of the project, the sales revenue can be
increased by RMB300 million a year.
   Shanxi Tongzhou Coal Coking Group is a private enterprise
established in 1993. The company mainly produces coke and also
integrates coal mining, dressing and refractory material
production.
