PCTFE and Fluorocarbon Emulsion Synthesis Process

The new polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE) synthesis process
and the fluorocarbon emulsion synthesis process developed by
Shandong Qingdao Hongfeng Fluorosilicon Sci-Tech Co., Ltd.
recently passed the experts' appraisal organized by China
Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association.
PCTFE is a new fluorine functional material with unique
properties. It is extensively used in high-end products such as
chemicals and medical care products. The new suspension
polymerization process developed by the company uses CTFE as
monomer and a new peroxide system as initiator. The process
features high product yield, short reaction time and
satisfactory wastes treatment.
Tests made by the Testing Center of Shanghai Plastics
Research Institute prove that the main performance indexes of
the product are higher than the national standard for PCTFE
(HG2167-91). Trial application in users shows that the product
has great transparency and good low-temperature resistance and
can meet requirements in different processing processes such as
molding, extrusion and injection. A 100 t/a PCTFE commercial
production unit has already been completed in the company.
In the fluorocarbon emulsion synthesis process,
fluorocarbon emulsion is produced through the emulsification of
CTFE with olefinic esters and olefinic acids.
