Yancheng Shuts Down 137 Polluting Chemical Companies

Up till now, there are 137 chemical manufacturers shut down by
Yancheng municipal government of Jiangsu province. Among them,
35 manufacturers have their licenses cancelled (or revoked), 60
ones have their facilities disassembled, 21 ones have their
water and electricity supply cut off and 21 ones were suspended
production.
    Since 2006, Yancheng municipal government has been made
thorough investigation to 735 chemical manufacturers in the city
so that chemical manufacturers that against law will be
straightened out, rectified or ruled out in next 3 years.
Meanwhile, the dispersed chemical manufacturers will be leaded
to these intensive chemical zones within the fixed time.
