Shandong Shuts up Polluting Chemical Companies

According to the result of special activity recently conducted
by Shandong provincial government to reorganize the polluting
enterprises against law, Jinan Qilu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.,
Jinan Chemical Fertilizer Plant and Zibo Hualong Chemical
Industry Co., Ltd. were ordered to suspend production for
rectification because of serious discharge exceeding standard.
Once these three enterprises improve their pollution
administration facilities and pass the appraisal of Shandong
Provincial Environmental Protection Bureau, production will be
permitted to resume.
   In addition, Jinan Zhenghao Chemical Fiber New Material Co.,
Ltd. was also criticized for discharge exceeding standard and
was ordered to rectify problems in one month.
   In view of the serious pollution made by pipeline to the sea
in Sinopec Qilu Petrochemical for a long time, Shandong
provincial government has decided to stop approving any
construction project of the company and ask the local government
to make a thorough investigation along the pipeline.
