DPAB Starts 60 000 T/A Heavy Alkylbenzenesulfonate Unit

CNPC Daqing Petroleum Administration Bureau (DPAB) started the
construction of a 60 000 t/a heavy alkylbenzenesulfonate unit
in Daqing of Heilongjiang province on May 14th, 2007. The
completion of the unit will provide powerful technical support
and ensure the stable supply of crude oil.
   Daqing Oilfield has developed the ternary composite oil
displacement technology with intellectual property right. The
oil recovery rate is around 20% higher compared with the water
oil displacement technology. It will become the major technology
for the oil recovery increase in Daqing Oilfield. The major
surfactant used in ternary composite oil displacement is heavy
alkylbenzenesulfonate.
   The 20 000 t/a heavy alkylbenzenesulfonate unit completed by
DPAB in April 2006 is making full-load production today. It can
no longer meet the needs in Daqing Oilfield.
   Utilities of the project will be fully completed at the end
of November 2007. A 30 000 t/a heavy alkylbenzenesulfonate
production line will be put on stream in December 2007.
