Zhongjie Petrochemical Starts up 100 000 T/A DME Unit

On May 16th, 2007 a 100 000 t/a DME (dimethyl ether) production
unit was completed and conducted wet commissioning in Zhongjie
Petrochemical Group Company Ltd. (Zhongjie Petrochemical) in
Cangzhou, Hebei province. The quality and design capacity of the
products made by the unit can reach the design index. This unit
is designed by East China Engineering Science and Technology Co.,
Ltd. of China National Chemical Engineering Corporation.
    The unit makes use of the technology with domestic
intellectual property right. DME is a secondary clean energy
with good retardant ability and can be used as automobile fuel
and civil fuel. Large-scale DME production technologies in China
today are mainly mastered by the foreign licensors.
