PPG Breaks Ground Automobile Coatings Plant in Anhui

On April 25th, 2007 PPG Industries held a groundbreaking
ceremony in Wuhu, Anhui province to start a new automobile
coatings plant, which is PPG's eighth production base in China
today. This new plant is planned to provide special automobile
painting for Chery Corporation, which is a leading Chinese
private automobile manufacturer also located in Wuhu.
    PPG has already set up seven plants before Wuhu plant in
China mainland, including Tianjin plant and Suzhou plant in
Jiangsu province. It is released that the first-phase investment
is RMB70 million for Wuhu plant. Construction on the first
project was started recently and is scheduled to be completed
before the end of December 2007.
