Jilin Tianze Starts up Nanometer Calcium Carbonate Project

The 100 000 t/a nanometer calcium carbonate project in Jilin
Tianze Nanometer Material Co., Ltd. started production in
Shuangyang District, Changchun, Jilin province on April 16th,
2007. The project has a total investment of RMB150 million and
was jointly funded by Changchun Dali Nanometer Technology
Development Co., Ltd. and International Petroleum Corporation
of Australia in July 2006. It can accomplish an output value of
RMB300 million a year after completion.
   Nanometer calcium carbonate used as filler has excellent
properties. It is extensively used in rubber, plastic, paper,
paint and coatings sectors. Abundant, low-price and high-grade
ores in Shuangyang District are used as raw materials to
synthesize the product through nanometer technology. The
additive of nanometer calcium carbonate as filler into rubbers
and plastics can reduce their manufacturing cost.
