Dow Corning Shares Solutions with China's Automotive Industry

On April 24th, 2007 Dow Corning Corporation, a global leader in
silicon-based technology, participated in the Auto Tech Forum
held in conjuncture with the Auto Show Shanghai 2007. At the
forum, Dow Corning showcased solutions to help Chinese auto

"Silicone provides a fundamental building block for modern
industries because of its astonishing versatility to adhere,
lubricate, insulate, protect, seal, transfer energy and soften.
All of these are important attributes in the automotive industry.
Because of its unique properties, silicone enhances the
performance of various auto parts, saves energy and therefore
supports sustainable development requirement of the local auto
industry." explained Mr. Randall S. Rozin, global director of
Dow Corning's automotive industry team.
"We have worked with our customers to develop a series of
environment-friendly auto solutions that include: 'green tires'
produced with the use of silanes which improve fuel efficiency
and lower carbon dioxide emissions; silicone rubber used as
sealants which prevent moisture from seeping into headlamps; and
encapsulants which support reliable performance of auto
electronic applications", Mr. Rozin said.
