Tingfeng Alcohol Launches Fuel Alcohol Project

On April 5th, 2007 Baicheng Tingfeng Alcohol Co., Ltd. (Tingfeng
Alcohol) held the ground breaking ceremony for the 30 thousand
t/a fuel ethyl alcohol project in Baicheng, Jilin province,
which is the second biological fuel ethyl alcohol project in
Jilin province. With a total investment of RMB197 million, the
project makes use of corn starch as the raw material and can
consume 230 000 tons of corn starch after its completion.
Meanwhile, 30 thousand tons of fuel ethyl alcohol and 60 thousand
tons of starch feed can be sold per year. 640 thousand tons of
steam and 48 million kWh of electricity per year produced from
starch waste material can be used to meet the energy consumption
of the project itself.
