Chuanmei Constructs Mirabilite Production Base

On April 2nd, 2007 Sichuan Chuanmei Mirabilite Co.,
Ltd.(Chuanmei) started construction on its 600 000 t/a disodium
sulfate production project and 500 000 t/a potassium sulfate
production project in Chuanmei Mirabilite Industry Intensive
Park, Dongpo District, Meishan, Sichuan province. The two
projects will spend a total investment of RMB900 million.
    The two projects are the first phase for the company to
construct a mirabilite production base and after their
completion the sales revenue in Chuanmei is expected to be
increased by RMB2.3 billion per year. Sichuan Chuanmei
Mirabilite Co., Ltd. is planning to gradually construct other
mirabilite deep-processing projects in the next 5 years to
finally realize the mirabilite capacity of 2 million t/a.
　　China is abundant in mirabilite and exports 2 million tons
of disodium sulfate each year.
