Jilin Connel Breaks Ground 300 000 T/A Aniline Project

On March 28th, 2007 Jilin Connel Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. held
the ground breaking ceremony for its 300 000 t/a aniline project
in Jilin Economic-Technological Development Zone, Jilin city,
Jilin province. The project is planned to invest RMB600 million.
    The whole production line in the company includes
nitrobenzene unit, coal-to-hydrogen unit and aniline unit. The
advanced adiabatic nitration process imported from Germany will
be used in nitrobenzene unit to avoid explosion and pollution
problems. The coal-to-hydrogen unit makes use of Ende Gasifier
patent technology to handle the hydrogen source problem. The
aniline unit utilizes the latest vapor hydrogenation production
process developed by Tsinghua University to improve the product
yield and quality, with all raw materials coming from the local
region.
    The 300 000 t/a aniline project will be executed into two
phases. The first phase is expected to be completed at the end
of 2007 to achieve the capacity of 150 000 t/a aniline and some
aniline downstream products. With an investment of nearly RMB400
million, the second phase will construct another 150 000 t/a
aniline production line, which is expected to be completed at
the end of 2009.
