KPC Launches Civil Work of the Propane Deasphalting Unit

Civil work on the 800 000 t/a propane de-asphalting unit in
PetroChina Karamay Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (KPC) was started on
March 19th, 2007. The project is planned to be completed in
August 2007. Besides, the second 300 000 t/a hydrogenation unit
is scheduled to be put on stream in August, too.
   After the completion of these two units, the asphalt capacity
in KPC will reach 1.0 million t/a and the lube oil capacity will
reach 600 000 t/a. In this way the heavy crude centralized
processing base, the high-grade naphthenic lube oil production
base, the heavy road asphalt production base and the
low-freezing diesel production base in PetroChina will be
basically constructed.
   KPC has developed 5 series of naphthenic lube oil products
with high added value including transformer oil, rubber oil,
refrigerator oil, high-viscosity bright oil and white oil.
