Lanzhou Petrochemical Starts up MTBE Unit

On March 16th, 2007 wet commissioning were conducted on the 80
thousand t/a MTBE (methyl tert-butyl ether) unit and the 40
thousand t/a 1-butylene unit in the Latex Plant of CNPC Lanzhou
Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (Lanzhou Petrochemical) in Lanzhou,
Gansu province of western China. On March 18th, 2007 qualified
MTBE products were manufactured with its content reaching 95.46%.
On March 20th, 2007 qualified 1-butylene products were
manufactured with its content reaching 99.68%. As the key
projects of Lanzhou Petrochemical, the 80 thousand t/a MTBE unit
and the 40 thousand t/a 1-butylene unit were conducted
intermediate handing-over on November 1st, 2006.
