Sartomer Kicks off Special Acrylates Project in Guangzhou

On March 15th, 2007 construction on the 17 000 t/a special
acrylates project, in Nansha Development Zone, Guangzhou,
Guangdong province was started by Sartomer (Guangzhou) Chemical
Company Ltd. The project is invested by Sartomer (Guangzhou)
Chemical Company Ltd., which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of
Total Group of France and an important supplier of special
chemical raw materials worldwide. In 2006, Sartomer (Guangzhou)
Chemical Co., Ltd. established the Asian R&D Centre in
Guangzhou.
    The US$30 million project covers a land of over 70 000 m2
and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2007.
The product portfolio of Sartomer includes methacrylic acid and
acrylic acid monomer, oligomer, photo initiator, styrene-maleic
anhydride resin, and other specialty chemicals.
