Blue Star Formally Starts up 500 000 t/a DCC Unit

According to an executive from Heilongjiang Heihua Co., Ltd.,
the 500 000 t/a DCC (deep catalytic cracking) unit which was put
on stream on October 25th, 2006 has been put into formal
operation. The operation is stable, all indexes have reached the
design requirements and the full-load running is smooth. The
unit has a total investment of almost RMB700 million and can
produce nearly 400 000 tons of 13 product varieties including
LPG, propylene, gasoline and diesel. In this way, existing crude
oil resources can be used in a more rational way, refined
propylene and fine chemical raw materials such as C4 LPG
containing isobutene and n-butene can be produced to the maximum
and the industrial chain of crude oil processing can be extended.
Preparations can also be made for the development of fine
chemicals with high added value.
