Changqing Petrochemical Completes Hydrocracking Unit

On March 10th, 2007 feedstock oil was formally introduced into
the newly built 1.2 million t/a hydrocracking unit in PetroChina
Changqing Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (Changqing Petrochemical)
located in Xianyang, Shaanxi province. On March 11th, 2007 the
unit conducted successfully trial run and manufactured
qualified products. The 1.2 million t/a hydrocracking unit with
the largest scale in the west of China is the core sector of the
company's 5 million t/a refining expansion project, which is
designed by Sinopec Luoyang Petrochemical Corporation.
    Construction on the hydrocracking unit was started in
October 2005 and intermediate handing-over was conducted in
November 2006. UOP Corporation of the United States, China First
Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., Fushun Petrochemical Research
Institute and some other companies have made some contributions
to the successful completion of the 1.2 million t/a
hydrocracking unit, which also suggests that the 5 million t/a
refining expansion project in Changqing Petrochemical was
completed in all-around way.
