Tongling Jintai Completes Refined Nickel Sulfate Pilot Project

The refined nickel sulfate pilot project undertaken by Tongling
Jintai Battery Material Co., Ltd. was recently completed in
Tongling, Anhui province. The completion of the project has
enabled the full recovery and reuse of scrap nickel resources
in Tongling Nonferrous Metals (Group) Inc. It can also ease the
supply deficit of raw materials for new products such as lithium
nickelate, lithium cobaltate and lithium manganate and
effectively reduce the production cost in Tongling Jintai
Battery Material Co., Ltd.
   Raw materials for the battery material sector have a serious
supply deficit in China. Tongling Jintai Battery Material Co.,
Ltd. has made a full use of scrap nickel resources in its parent
company Tongling Nonferrous Metals (Group) Inc. On the basis of
the 200 t/a lithium cobaltate battery positive material project,
the company launched the refined nickel sulfate pilot project
in the second half of 2006 to meet the needs in the production
of new products.
   Tongling Jintai Battery Material Co., Ltd. is established by
Tongling Nonferrous Metals (Group) Inc. for the development and
production of lithium ion positive materials. The leading
product is lithium cobaltate.
