Antioxidant RD Unit Conducts Intermediate Handing over

The 15 000 t/a antioxidant RD unit, one of the resource
optimization projects in Sinopec Nanjing Chemical Industry Co.,
Ltd., was conducted intermediate handing over in Nanjing of
Jiangsu province on February 5th, 2007. Construction on the
project was started on August 1st, 2006. It occupies a built-up
area of 3 000 m3 and has 140 pieces of static and dynamic
equipment and process pipelines with a total length of 11 000m.
   RD (2,2,4-dimethyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline) is an antioxidant
that must be added in the production of airplane tires and radial
tires. It has a bright market prospect and major raw materials
for its production include aniline, acetone, hydrochloric acid
and caustic soda.
   The resource optimization project launched by Nanjing
Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. includes the construction of a new
15 000 t/a antioxidant RD unit and the relocation of an existing
15 000 t/a antioxidant RD unit, the output being 30 000 tons a
year.
