Gas Purification Project Completes

On December 10th, 2006 main part of the gas purification project
was completed in Huaibei Linhuan Coking Plant located in Linhuan
New District, Anhui province. With a total capacity of 4.4
million t/a coke and 400 000 t/a methanol, construction of the
coking plant was began on June 26th, 2005. (CCR2005, No. 20) With
an investment of RMB1.96 billion and a construction period of
2 years, the first phase includes 2.2 million t/a coke and 200
000 t/a methanol. The second phase will increase the capacity
by 2.2 million t/a coke and 200 000 t/a methanol. Gas
purification is the prerequisite for comprehensive utilization
of gas. By making use of clean gas, Huaibei Linhuan Coking Plant
will gradually develop such projects as 300 000 t/a coal tar
processing project, 80 000 t/a hydrofining project and 400 000
t/a methanol deep-processing project to realize the maximum
utilization of resources.
   Huaibei Linhuan Coking Co., Ltd. is jointly established by
Huaibei Coal Field Group Co., Ltd., Shanghai Coking & Chemical
Corporation, Nanjing Iron & Steel Group Company, Hangzhou Iron
& Steel Group Company and Minmetals Development Co., Ltd., among
which Huaibei Coal Field Group Co., Ltd. holds 51% equity and
the other 4 shareholders hold 49% equity. (CCR2005, No. 20)
