BBCA Biochemical's MEG Project Kicks off

On December 28th, 2006 construction was started on the 180 000
t/a monoethylene glycol (MEG) project in BBCA (Suzhou)
Biochemical Company Ltd. located in Suzhou, Anhui province. With
a total investment of RMB1.318 billion, the MEG project makes
use of starches as raw materials, and could process 600 000 tons
of corn per year. Adopting advanced technologies, it is a
demonstrative project with bright product prospect for
manufacturing petrochemicals using renewable resources instead
of petroleum. After completion, the project will help the
company realize its annual sales revenue of RMB1.8 billion.
   As a subsidiary of Anhui BBCA Biochemical Co., Ltd. (SZ:
000930), BBCA (Suzhou) Biochemical Co., Ltd. uses ample
renewable corn resource as raw material to manufacture ethyl
alcohol, ethylene, ethylene oxide and so on.
